Water Preserver
Do I Need a Water Preserver for my Water Storage?
The need for a water preserver really depends on how long you plan to keep your drinking water supplies - if you are the type who will store up water for awhile but use it up soon and replace the contents again, then you may not really need a water preserver since the content of your water storage containers is constantly replenished anyway. But if you store up water in a container then leave it alone for quite awhile - say 6 months to 5 years perhaps - then you probably need a water preserver product. A water preserver works by purifying the water by way of chemicals. You add the water preserver (which comes in liquid form) to your stored water so that you no longer have to keep rotating the content to assure fresh supplies. The water preserver will destroy any harmful bacteria that could have infected your water and may be multiplying within the water. To select a water preserver product, you have to make sure that the manufacturer has let his product undergo many years of thorough testing to assure that it is safe to consume (because once you drip the water preserver liquid into your water, it mixes with the water and you essentially drink both water preserver liquid and water at one go.) It is also important that the product has been EPA registered as well. |
