A paracord bracelet is both functional and stylish.

Paracord, short for parachute cord, is a lightweight and durable nylon rope originally designed for parachuting. The widely used 550 paracord has a breaking strength of 550 lbs and consists of a 32-strand sheath and a 7-strand inner core. It’s quick-drying, resistant to rot and mildew, and perfect for various purposes, from outdoor survival to decorative crafting.

How to Make a Paracord Bracelet

Step-by-Step Instructions

    1. Measure Your Wrist

Wrap a single line of paracord around your wrist and mark the measurement. Straighten the cord and record the length.

    1. Prepare the Cord

Fold the 10-foot paracord in half. Pass the loose ends through the male end of the buckle, pulling them through the loop at the folded end. Tighten it securely.

Step 2: Prepare the cord
    1. Attach the Female Buckle

Measure the cord to match your wrist size. Attach the female end of the buckle, ensuring the loop is snug.

Step 3: Attach the buckle
    1. Begin Weaving

Position the bracelet with the female buckle at the top. Follow these steps:

      • Take the left cord, pass it under the two bracelet strands, and over the right cord.
      • Take the right cord, pass it over the bracelet strands, and pull it through the loop on the left.
      • Pull tight to secure the knot.
Step 4: Start weaving
    1. Continue Weaving

Repeat the process, alternating sides until you reach the end of the bracelet.

Step 5: Continue weaving
    1. Finish the Bracelet

Thread the loose ends through the remaining buckle slit. Lift the last knot slightly and pull the ends through the loop. Trim the excess and seal the ends with a lighter to prevent fraying.

Step 6: Finish the bracelet
