Follow this guide to create your own durable and decorative paracord keychain.
Materials Needed
- 3 strands of paracord, each 40 inches long
- Scissors
- Lighter
- Ruler or tape measure
- Masking tape
Steps to Create Your Paracord Keychain
- Prepare the Strands
Gather the three strands and measure 17 3/4 inches from one end. Use masking tape to secure the strands together at this point.
- Braid the Strands
Braid the three strands by alternating the right and left outermost strands over their neighbors. Continue braiding until you reach a length of 3 1/2 inches. Secure the braid with tape.
- Form the Loop
Bring both taped ends together to form a loop. Secure them with tape and measure 2 1/4 inches down from the loop. Tape the strands at this point.
- Tying the Crown Sinnet Knot
To tie the Crown Sinnet knot:
- Make a backward "C" with each strand, laying each over its neighbor to the left.
- Pull the strands tight and repeat until the tape point is reached.
- Finish the Keychain
Complete the Crown Sinnet, then tuck each strand under its neighbor to secure the ends. Trim excess cord and use a lighter to seal the edges, preventing fraying.
